On World Meteorological Day 2026, this CLEAR-EO webinar traces the journey from global observations to local impact.
Starting with the WMO-coordinated global observing system, we explore how regional infrastructures, particularly ECMWF’s contributions to Destination Earth (DestinE), transform meteorological data into accessible, high-value resources.
Building on decades of expertise in numerical weather prediction and large-scale data processing, ECMWF is advancing an end-to-end AI stack for weather and climate, turning vast Earth system datasets into AI-ready training data and enabling scalable AI workflows on EuroHPC systems. Complementing this, perspectives from operational services such as DMI will showcase how machine learning, including emulators of numerical weather prediction models, is already enhancing forecasting capabilities and opening new opportunities for improved flood modelling.
CLEAR-EO then brings this data to life at the local level through its pilot applications in flooding, agriculture, and air quality..
